Latex-free natural pillows
If you have a latex allergy, most of the natural-bedding aisle is closed to you, and the labels rarely make it easy to tell. These four contain no latex at any stage, and we will tell you plainly which of ours does.
One of our six pillows contains latex, the Tree-Tapped Latex, and it is named so you cannot miss it. The other five contain no rubber of any kind: buckwheat, buckwool, organic cotton, organic wool and wild-harvested kapok. If you want the springy, lightweight feel that draws people to latex without the rubber, kapok is the closest match, because the hollow fiber gives you a similar buoyancy from a plant. If you have a diagnosed latex allergy, speak to your doctor before trying any new bedding.

Why this is hard to shop for
Latex is very good material, which is why it turns up everywhere in this category, and that is exactly what makes the aisle difficult if you react to it.

A pillow described by its cover or its outer fabric can have latex in the fill without it appearing in the product name.

So we will state it plainly. One product line of ours contains latex and it is named after it. Everything else here has none, in the fill, the cover or anywhere in the construction.
The nearest thing
What draws people to latex is usually the combination of light and springy: it holds your head up, it answers when you move, and it does not swallow you the way foam does. Kapok is the only other fill here that behaves anything like that.
Each fiber is a hollow microtube, 80 to 90 percent air, with a wall one to two microns thick. Almost nothing in the pillow is solid, which is why it is the lightest natural fiber on earth and why it springs rather than sags. It needs a shake every few days, and that is the trade.
What is in the covers
A latex allergy question is not only about the fill. Rubberised backings, elastic bindings and waterproof laminates are all places latex hides in bedding, and they are rarely mentioned on the front of a package.
Every cover we make is organic cotton with a zipper. Our waterproof pillow protector uses a bio-based TPU film between two organic cotton faces rather than a rubber laminate, so it is latex-free as well.
Being straight about it
Latex allergy is a reaction to proteins in natural rubber. Processing removes most of them and we are not in a position to tell you how much is enough for your body, so we will not make that call on a product page.
If the allergy is diagnosed, talk to your doctor and then take one of the five fills on this page. If you are unsure whether you react, that is also a conversation for a clinician rather than a sixty-night trial.

Kapok. Hollow fiber gives you buoyancy from a plant, and it is the closest thing here to what you were after.

It depends which one you order. The body pillow comes with cotton, wool, kapok or latex inside, so choose one of the first three. The option is shown before checkout, and write to us if you want us to double-check an order.
It is the other way round for a latex allergy. The reaction is to proteins in natural rubber, and synthetic latex does not contain them. This is a question for your doctor rather than for us, and either way we do not sell a synthetic latex pillow.
Kapok is a seed fiber from the Ceiba pentandra tree with no relationship to rubber, so it does not contain the proteins that cause a latex reaction. It is what we point people toward when latex is out and they still want that light, springy feel. As always, check with your doctor if the allergy is diagnosed.
We do not make mattress toppers at all, in any material. Pillows, duvets, covers and bedding are what the workshop makes.
Ask, and expect a specific answer. We list the exact contents of every product on this page and we will put it in writing if you email. A pillow that describes itself only as natural is the one worth a follow-up question, because in bedding natural often means natural latex.
