A pillow protector only works if you forget it's there.
This is a Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) Certified Organic pillow protector, certified as a finished product, under license GOTS-10229 (Oregon Tilth). It is one of the few protectors that can make that claim. No PFAS intentionally added at any stage: GOTS prohibits PFAS as an input and verifies residues below 25 parts per billion.
It is waterproof and made with organic cotton, and it zips around the pillow so spills and sweat have no way in. It goes on under your pillowcase, so it does its job out of sight.
Strongly recommended for the kapok and wool pillows to extend the life of the fill, and recommended for the cotton pillow too.

We choose every material and set every spec on this protector ourselves. It is sewn at the same bench as the pillows, by the same people, from the same organic cotton.
Materials and certifications
Two layers of Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) organic cotton knit, under license GOTS-10229, around a 1-mil cornstarch-based bio-TPU film. The film meets the GreenGuard Gold standard for low chemical emissions, and lab testing puts its pore size under 1 micron, which makes it a barrier to dust mites and bed bugs as well as to liquid, while water vapor still passes through so your pillow keeps breathing.

The reason most pillow protectors end up in a drawer.
You buy a protector to keep a good pillow clean. Then you sleep on it once. Most protectors are a sheet of polyurethane plastic laminated to fabric, so they crinkle with every turn and trap heat like a bag, and they make a cool natural pillow sleep hot and loud.
Within a week it is off the bed and your pillow is unprotected again. A protector only works if you forget it is there. That means it has to breathe.
Waterproof, still breathes
A microporous membrane stops spills and sweat from reaching the fill while air and moisture vapor pass right through, so it never sleeps like a plastic bag.
Organic cotton, no crinkle
The surface against you is soft organic cotton, not laminate film, so there is no crunch when you move and no heat trapped against your head.
Keeps the pillow going for years
It guards the fill from the sweat, oils, and spills that actually wear a natural pillow out, so the pillow you dialed in lasts far longer.
Protection you leave on because you cannot feel it. The pillow underneath stays clean, sleeps cool, and lasts, instead of the protector ending up in a drawer.
The list most protector makers hope you never read. None of it is in a Circadian protector.

What's not in the protector.
A waterproof protector is only worth using if it does not cancel out the pillow underneath it. Most are solid polyester or a synthetic film that traps heat, so the breathable natural pillow you bought ends up sealed inside plastic. The face of ours is Organic cotton, so it stays soft and breathes against your skin. The finished protector is GreenGuard Gold certified, the low-emission tier used for products made for schools and childcare, so it does not off-gas the way synthetic covers do.
License GOTS-10229, issued by Oregon Tilth, held against the Global Organic Textile Standard and renewed on an on-site audit every year.

Do you have a waterproof pillow protector?
Yes. Circadian makes the Waterproof Organic Cotton Pillow Protector, two layers of organic cotton knit around a thin waterproof film. It is GOTS Certified Organic as a finished protector under license GOTS-10229, issued by Oregon Tilth, and holds GREENGUARD Gold for low chemical emissions. It fits Travel, Standard, Queen, King and Body pillows, zips closed, and is machine washable.
Does the pillow protector affect breathability?
The Circadian Waterproof Organic Pillow Protector is designed to stay breathable. The outer layer is organic cotton, which wicks moisture naturally. The waterproof barrier uses a thin membrane that blocks liquid without the heat-trapping effect common in thick vinyl or plastic-backed protectors.
What is the Circadian Waterproof Organic Cotton Pillow Protector?
The Circadian Waterproof Organic Cotton Pillow Protector is a zippered protector with two layers of organic cotton knit around a thin waterproof film. Sweat and spills have no way into the pillow. Water vapor still passes through, so the pillow keeps breathing. It is GOTS Certified Organic as a finished protector under license GOTS-10229, issued by Oregon Tilth, and the finished protector holds GREENGUARD Gold, the low-emission tier written for products used in schools and childcare. It goes on under your pillowcase and does its job out of sight.
Which Circadian pillows should have a protector on them?
All of them, because none of the fills can be washed, so keeping sweat and spills out of the fill is what extends its life. The Circadian Waterproof Organic Cotton Pillow Protector is strongly recommended on the Wild-Harvested Kapok and Organic Wool pillows and recommended on the Organic Cotton Pillow. It fits the Buckwheat, Buckwool Hybrid and Tree-Tapped Latex pillows too. It is also the answer for night sweats, kids, and anyone who eats or drinks in bed.
What sizes does the pillow protector come in?
The Circadian Waterproof Organic Cotton Pillow Protector comes in Travel for a 12 by 16 inch pillow, Standard for 20 by 26, Queen for 20 by 30, King for 20 by 36 and Body for 20 by 72. Those match the Circadian pillow dimensions size for size, and the Body size fits the Circadian Body Pillow in any of its four fills.
Does the pillow protector crinkle or trap heat like a plastic one?
No. The surface on both sides is organic cotton knit, and the waterproof layer is a thin film in the middle, so there is no crinkle and no plastic feel. The film is a barrier to dust mites and bed bugs as well as to liquid, and water vapor still passes through it, so the pillow underneath keeps breathing. Under a pillowcase most people forget the Circadian protector is there.
How do I wash the pillow protector?
Unzip the Circadian Waterproof Organic Cotton Pillow Protector, take it off the pillow, and machine wash it cold on a gentle cycle, then tumble dry low or line dry. Skip bleach and fabric softener, which shorten the life of the waterproof film. Wash it with the sheets every week or two, and the pillow inside stays clean and dry for years.
Can I return the pillow protector?
Yes, within 60 days if it is unused and in its original packaging. The Circadian Waterproof Organic Cotton Pillow Protector is a hygiene item, so the 60-night sleep trial on the pillows does not extend to a protector that has been slept on. Email jacob@circadianrest.com with your order number and we send a prepaid return label. The refund goes back to your original payment method within 3 to 5 business days of the protector reaching the New Jersey workshop.
How long does the pillow protector take to ship?
The Circadian Waterproof Organic Cotton Pillow Protector is made to order in New Jersey alongside the pillows. Orders of 1 to 5 items leave the workshop in 4 to 7 business days, and the carrier adds 2 to 5 business days depending on how far you live from New Jersey. Checkout shows the arrival window for your address before you pay, and shipping is free within the contiguous United States. If you order the protector with a pillow, the two ship together.
