If you sleep under a duvet, the flat sheet is the layer against your skin all night, which is more than the afterthought it usually gets treated as.
Cut generously, so it still tucks in after the first wash takes its shrinkage.
Sateen is a four-over-one float, so four of every five threads sit on the surface rather than being tied down into the weave. That is where the low sheen and the cool slide come from, and because it is structural rather than a finish, it survives washing. The count is 300, and what you feel is the fiber and the weave rather than the number. The cotton is long-staple, so the yarn spins fine and even without the short ends that make cheaper cotton pill.
The color is the cotton's own. No bleaching and no optical brighteners, so it reads as a warm natural off-white rather than the blue-white of most bedding.

If you sleep under a duvet, the flat sheet is the layer against your skin all night, and most of them meet your skin with chemistry rather than cloth, which means chlorine bleaching, a formaldehyde resin so they press flat, optical brighteners to fake the white back, and a softener that survives a few washes and then leaves. This sheet is GOTS Certified Organic, which is the standard that governs every wet-processing step, so none of that happened to it. The smoothness is the long-staple fiber and the sateen weave, which is why it lasts and why it gets better rather than thinner. Undyed, in the cotton's own color. Cut and sewn in a GOTS certified workshop in New Jersey, audited on site every year. What is against you all night is cotton, and nothing that was put on it.

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, then tumble dry low or line dry. Fold it warm. Cotton sets its creases as it cools, so take it out of the dryer while there is still heat in it, give it one snap, and fold it then. Skip fabric softener, because the sateen weave softens on its own with each wash. Expect the Circadian Organic Cotton Flat Sheet to shrink a little on the first wash, which is why it is cut generously, and to feel noticeably softer by the third or fourth cycle.
