Circadian, if you want one material per pillow: Avocado blends latex and kapok in one bag, while our kapok pillow and our latex pillow are each one fill, handmade in New Jersey, with 60 nights slept on and a refill sold for each.
The Avocado Green Pillow is 70 percent shredded latex and 30 percent kapok in one bag, certified as a finished pillow, with a hundred-night trial. We make each of those pillows on its own: the Wild-Harvested Kapok Pillow for the soft, down-like feel and the Tree-Tapped Latex Pillow for the bounce, so each behaves like itself when you take some out. Both are filled and sewn by hand in New Jersey, with a refill sold for the day either one settles; the kapok sits within a few dollars of their list price at Standard.

Why ours, in five lines
- One material per pillow, so the fill moves evenly when you take some out. Theirs is a 70 to 30 blend of latex ribbons and kapok that reviews on their own page describe shifting out from under the head.
- A kapok pillow that weighs about 2 pounds. Theirs is 3.4, which their own reviews call heavy.
- The kapok described exactly. We say wild-harvested and stop there; their page labels the kapok certified organic under a textile licence.
- Handmade in New Jersey. Theirs is made in Tecate, Mexico, per their product page.
- Six fills that all open at the zipper, with a refill sold for each. Their page says the Green Pillow is the only Avocado pillow that adjusts.
- No height can be calculated for you. A 2021 review in Healthcare looked for the right pillow height and found no optimum for back or side sleeping, and no link between the height that works and the measurements of a sleeper's head or neck. Every pillow we make opens at the zipper, and we sell a refill bag for every fill, so it still opens in five years.

Have MCS and react to almost everything. Most "natural" pillows still have polyester thread or chemical finishes. This is the first pillow I've put my face on without something happening. I sleep on it now.

Is the Avocado Green Pillow adjustable?
Yes. Their page says to unzip the inner liner and remove fill until you reach the height you want, and an extra bag of fill ships in the box. Every Circadian pillow adjusts the same way through a full-length side zipper, arrives about a third fuller than most people keep, and we sell a refill for every one of the six fills.
Why do people say the Avocado pillow is heavy?
A Standard Green Pillow weighs about 3.4 pounds because 70 percent of the fill by weight is shredded latex. Several reviews on their own product page describe it as heavy or hard to move around. Our kapok pillow is about 2 pounds at Standard, since kapok is a hollow fiber that is mostly air. Our latex pillow is latex all the way through, and that density is what pushes back under your head.
Does the Avocado pillow have a smell when it arrives?
Some reviews on their product page report a strong odor that faded after airing. Ours is slow-pour Dunlop with nothing blended in and nothing added to it, and the kapok pillow has nothing on the fiber to air out, because nothing is applied to it between the seed pod and the cover.

Which Circadian pillow is closest to the Avocado Green Pillow?

Avocado gives 100 nights on up to two pillows, with a prepaid label, as long as the pillow comes back in a condition suitable for donation with the law tag attached. We give 60 nights on a pillow you have slept on, with the label on us and a full refund, and no condition on the pillow beyond having been slept on.

Does the fill shift out from under your head once you remove some?
One review on their product page describes exactly that, and it is what a blended fill does, since ribbons and fiber move at different rates. A single material moves evenly, and if the mound drifts, push the edges in and it is back. Buckwheat hulls interlock and stay where you set them, which is why buckwheat, with the Buckwool Hybrid beside it, is where we point neck pain.
Is the Avocado Green Pillow vegan?
Yes. Their page says Vegan Action has certified the pillow and its manufacturing. Four of our six fills are vegan, kapok, cotton, buckwheat and latex. The Organic Wool and Buckwool Hybrid carry wool.
