For brands that sell covers

Natural pillow inserts, sewn to your size and filled to the weight you choose.

You design the cover and keep the customer. We make what goes inside it, by hand and to order in New Jersey, in kapok, wool, cotton, latex or buckwheat. Throw, lumbar, bolster and sleeping sizes are standard. Your own drawing works too.

How it works

You keep the cover, and we build the insert to your drawing.

01

Send the drawing

Give us the finished size, the feel you want and a rough count for the year. A photo of a cover you already sell is enough to start.

02

Sleep on two samples

We send two full-size inserts, filled to the weights we think fit. Zip them into your covers, press them, and tell us what to change.

03

We build the run to that weight

Every insert in the order is filled to the weight you approved, so the hundredth feels like the first. A bulk run takes three to five weeks, because we make it after you order.

Why it sells

Your customer can name what is inside the pillow.

Most decorative inserts are polyester fiberfill or a feather blend. The cover gets the attention, and the insert is the part that goes flat. A natural insert gives your listing a fill your customer can name and feel. It is also a real reason to buy the finished pillow from you instead of the cover alone.

The fills

What each fill does inside a cover.

A kapok-filled pillow

Wild-Harvested Kapok

Throws and decorative pillows

Kapok is the softest of the five. Each strand is a hollow tube, 80 to 90 percent air, so the insert sits high and soft and springs back after you press it.

Raw wool fleece, close up

Organic Wool

Lumbar and bed pillows

Wool comes in layers, so the insert has spring instead of weight. A lumbar pillow in wool stays cool against a back. Wool takes up to 30 percent of its own weight in moisture before it feels damp, and the heat leaves with it.

An organic cotton pillow

Organic Cotton

Crisp, tailored shapes

Cotton packed close holds a sharp edge and a full corner. It settles slowly and evenly over years rather than weeks. The cotton is grown in Texas without synthetic pesticides.

A latex pillow on a pink bouclé bed

Tree-Tapped Latex

Bed pillows and bolsters

Slow-pour Dunlop latex comes in pieces, so it springs back instead of going flat. It holds its height for years. The latex is tested to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 at Class 1, the strictest tier, written for baby products.

A buckwheat pillow

USA-Grown Buckwheat

Bolsters and neck rolls

This is the firmest fill we make. The hulls lock together under weight, so a bolster keeps its shape all day. Ours are pre-polished and air-jet cleaned, so they make up to 68 percent less crunch than standard buckwheat hulls.

A two-chamber buckwheat and wool pillow

Chambered inserts

Two fills, one zipper

We also build chambered inserts to a drawing. Our Buckwool Hybrid is the proof: buckwheat on one side, wool on the other, behind one zipper.

What you control

Everything that makes a reorder match.

Size

Any finished size, from a small lumbar to a body pillow. Standard throw sizes need no drawing.

Fill weight

A weight you sign off on, written onto the order. A reorder two years from now feels the same.

Closure

A zipper, so your customer can take some fill out, or sewn shut.

Shell

Organic cotton, grown without synthetic pesticides and sewn by hand, so your customer gets a natural pillow all the way through, not just on the outside.

Paperwork

The fill content in writing, for your product listing and your law label.

Pillow insert FAQ

What is the minimum order?

Standard sizes have no minimum. Custom sizes are built for a yearly program, split across sizes and fills however you like, and we will tell you plainly if your count fits.

Do you sell loose fill?

No. We sell finished inserts only. The fill weight and the shell are what keep the hundredth insert matching the first.

Can you ship inserts straight to my customers?

Yes. You sell the finished pillow, and we make the insert when you sell it and ship it to your customer. Nothing sits in your stockroom.

How long does it take?

A bulk run takes three to five weeks, because it is made after you order. We confirm a ship date for samples when we reply.

What do you need from me to quote?

The finished size, a photo of the cover, the feel you want and a rough yearly count. With those, the first reply comes back priced.
