  1. Open it over the bed

    Unzip the short end fully on the bed, which catches any scattered pieces.

  2. Take from the middle

    It comes with about 30% more latex than most keep. Pull handfuls from the center to keep it even.

  3. Lie down and check

    Lie the way you sleep, and zip it once your head is level with your shoulders.

Your first week

  • It pushes back. Springy latex can feel taller than fiber at the same height.
  • Expect to open it again. Most people adjust it once or twice in the first weeks.
  • It stays cool. Air moves between the pieces, so warmth does not build up.

Find your height

The pieces do not cling, so a handful comes out or goes back cleanly.

Side sleepersYou

Keep most of the pieces, so it fills the gap your shoulder leaves.

Back sleepersYou

Take out two or three handfuls, until your chin sits level.

Stomach sleepersYou

Take out more than you expect, and shake the rest into a shallow, even layer.

  1. Shake it out first

    The pieces nest and sit lower in the first weeks; a shake restores the height.

  2. Then change one handful

    If it is still off, add or remove one handful and sleep three nights on it.

Every week

A quick shake spreads the pieces evenly.

Keep it shaded

Sun ages rubber, so air it in shade and bag spares away from light.

The cover

Empty the latex into a bag, wash the cover cold on gentle, air dry.

Spills

Dab with 3 parts water to 1 part vinegar; dry it in the shade.

Never

Never machine wash or soak the latex.

How long it lasts

Up to 10 years. Add a handful through the zipper if it sits low.

Questions

Does latex lose its bounce?

No. The rubber keeps its spring for years, so a lower pillow has only settled.

What is the latex screened for?

Over 1,000 harmful substances, certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class 1, the strictest class, set for baby products, and it starts as sap from Sri Lankan rubber trees.

I have a latex allergy. Can I use it?

No. A latex allergy rules out every latex pillow, ours included, and the Organic Wool Pillow is the closest feel: springy, light and cool, with no rubber in it.

Why is it shredded, not one solid piece?

So you can set your own height through the zipper, one handful at a time.
