Wool that keeps the air at your face dry.
Wool wicks up to a third of its own weight in moisture while staying dry to the touch, so you wake up dry instead of clammy. The long fibers give it a springy, cushioned feel that holds its height, and the sheep's own lanolin keeps dust mites out of the pillow without anything being added to it.
Each side has its own zipper, and they do not talk to each other.
The divider is sewn in, so hulls stay on the hull side and wool stays on the wool side. Take one down and the other stays exactly where you left it.

Mound the hulls.
Push them into a low mound in the middle and rest your head into it. They mold around your neck and hold that shape all night.
Tune each chamber.
Pour out hulls to soften the firm side. Lift out a layer of wool to lower the soft side. It arrives full on both faces.

Store it dry. If you go too far, put back exactly what you removed.

Nothing here was treated to pass a flammability test, coated to repel stains, or softened with anything. Buckwheat hulls and wool both breathe on their own, which is why the air closest to your face all night is just fiber.
The wool chamber and the cotton cover are certified organic. The buckwheat hulls carry no separate organic certification, which is why you will not see a certification mark on this pillow the way you will on the wool and cotton ones. Handmade in our New Jersey workshop.

Sponge spots with cool water and let it air dry.
Air it in the sun
A few hours of sunlight every few weeks refreshes the wool and the lanolin oil.
Both fills last for years. Refill the hulls or add a layer of wool through the zippers as they settle, and the pillow starts over instead of going in the bin.
