What most organic pillows leave out
Most organic pillows are only organic on the outside.
Walk through the premium brands and you'll find the same thing under the label: latex or foam wrapped in an organic cotton cover. The cover is certified. The stuffing you breathe on all night is not.
Every layer of this one is organic: the fill, the cover, and the thread, certified through every layer by an independent third party under the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), farm through finished pillow. When you press your face into it, the organic part is the part touching your skin.
That is the difference between a pillow with an organic label and an organic pillow.
What you're not breathing in
Most pillows are bleached, softened with formaldehyde, and finished to repel stains.
Bleach
Conventional cotton is whitened with chlorine. Organic certification allows only oxygen-based methods.
Formaldehyde
The softener behind wrinkle-resistant finishes, and a classified carcinogen. Certification bans it at every stage.
PFAS
The stain repellents people now avoid. There are none here to breathe in.

Most pillows come at one fixed loft and ask your neck to adapt. This one ships overstuffed by about a third. Open the side zipper and take out a handful of fill until your neck sits level, then keep what feels right. The fill you adjust is the fill already inside, so there's nothing extra to store.

Side sleepers need the most fill.
The gap between your ear and the mattress is widest on your side, so you keep more fill in to fill it. A level neck means your spine runs straight from your head to your shoulders instead of bending toward the bed all night.
Why it lasts
Cotton is the densest fill we make.
It holds its shape for years instead of going flat in a season. The long-staple fibers, longer than the short-staple cotton most pillows use, grip each other instead of sliding apart, so the fill compresses slowly and evenly under your weight rather than clumping. When it settles, top it up through the zipper.
You notice it as a pillow that still holds your head in the second year the way it did the first.

The fill, the cover, and the thread are all certified organic, made in accordance with the Global Organic Textile Standard. The standard bans chlorine bleaching, requires clean wastewater treatment at every wet-processing step, and traces the cotton from the farm to the finished pillow. Is the whole pillow organic, or just the cover?
The whole pillow. The fill, the cover, and the thread all carry the same GOTS Certified Organic status. Most brands certify the cover and leave the fill out, so ask that question everywhere you shop.
How firm is it?
As firm as you make it. It ships overstuffed and you remove fill through the side zipper until it sits your head level. Side sleepers keep more in, stomach sleepers take more out.
Will it go flat?
Slower than most. The long-staple fiber compresses gradually and evenly instead of clumping, so it holds its shape for years. If it ever settles too low, add fill back or reach out to us.
What if it isn't right for me?
Sleep on it for 60 nights. If it isn't your pillow, send it back and we cover shipping both ways. Most orders arrive in four to seven days.
Does it have a smell?
It smells faintly of cotton and settles within a day. There are no chemical finishes to off-gas, which is the point of certifying the whole pillow rather than the cover alone.
