Most pillows that promise to cradle your head are polyurethane memory foam. It softens under the warmth of your head and stays at one height, the one it was made at.
The warm crater
Foam sinks around your head and holds it there, and the heat stays with it. By morning you are lying in a warm dip.
Polyurethane off-gassing
Memory foam is polyurethane, made from petroleum. A new foam pillow off-gasses what it was made from, a few inches from your face.
Latex made in a rush
Mass-market latex is poured on a moving line, often with synthetic latex blended in. The denser rubber settles, so the block ends up firmer on one side.
Ours is slow-pour latex from pure rubber-tree sap, shredded so you can set the height yourself.
What sits under your face
The latex is tested at Class 1, the strictest tier OEKO-TEX runs.
Your face rests on this latex every night, so it was tested to the limits set for a baby's bedding.
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 tests the finished material for regulated substances, including formaldehyde, heavy metals, pesticide residue and phthalates. Class 1 is the tier written for products made for babies under three. Class 2, the tier for things that touch your skin, is less strict.
The sap comes from FSC certified rubber-tree plantations in Sri Lanka. Each tree is tapped with a shallow cut in the bark that does not harm it, and it keeps giving sap for 25 to 30 years. After that it becomes rubberwood furniture.
How it feels
Slow-pour latex feels the same from edge to edge.
It holds your neck like a soft hug. The latex gives under your head, then springs back every time you turn.
Ours is poured in small batches from pure Hevea sap, with no synthetic latex blended in. A small batch cures evenly from top to bottom, so every piece in your pillow has the same bounce.
Air moves through it all night. Latex does not carry heat well, so the block is baked on hundreds of metal pins, and the pins leave open channels behind. Shredding it lets even more air through, so the pillow stays cool with no gel.
What the research found
In a trial of six pillow types with 106 side sleepers, researchers found the evidence supports latex pillows for people who wake with neck pain.

Make it yours
Set the height yourself.
It arrives full
About a third more latex than most people keep, so you only ever take some out.
Open it over a bag
The pieces are small and scatter easily, so open the zipper over a large bag.
Scoop out a handful
Stop when your head sits level. On your side, your ear sits over your shoulder. On your back, your chin stays level.
Fine-tune over weeks
If the height feels off a few weeks in, put some back or take more out.
What buyers say

★★★★★
This is by far the only pillow to use if you don't want to wake up with sore shoulders or neck.

Strictest tier, finished material
OEKO-TEX Standard 100, Class 1
An accredited lab tests the finished material against more than 100 harmful substances, including PFAS, formaldehyde, heavy metals and pesticide residue, at the threshold used for products made for direct contact with infants.
The Forest Stewardship Council audits the plantations the latex is tapped from against criteria for ecosystem protection, worker safety and land rights. OEKO-TEX tests the finished latex; FSC covers where it came from.

From the founder
Every pillow I tried either flattened in three months or hid a list of chemicals you'd need a glossary to read, so we built one that doesn't do either.

A few last questions
Before you decide.
Is this a natural latex pillow?
The latex is made from pure Hevea rubber-tree sap, with no synthetic latex blended in. It is poured by the slow-pour Dunlop method and shredded into pieces.
Is a latex pillow good for hot sleepers?
Yes. Air moves through the shredded pieces all night, so it stays much cooler than memory foam.
I have a latex allergy. Is this pillow safe for me?
No. The pillow contains natural rubber latex proteins. If you have a latex allergy, choose a different pillow and talk to your allergist. The two closest in feel have no latex in them. The Wild-Harvested Kapok Pillow is one step softer, light and cloud-like. The Organic Wool Pillow is one step firmer, soft and springy.
How long does a latex pillow last?
Up to a decade. You can add pieces through the zipper if one area settles.
Can side sleepers use it?
Yes. Keep it fuller, so the latex fills the space between your ear and your shoulder.
What if it isn't right for me?
Sleep on it for 60 nights. If it isn't your pillow, send it back for a full refund. Most orders arrive in 5 to 10 business days.
