Frequently asked questions
Can I use these pieces in any latex pillow?
Yes. The pieces work in any zippered latex pillow, ours or another brand. Open the side zipper and add pieces until the firmness matches your preference. The latex is the same slow-pour Dunlop we use in our Tree-Tapped Latex Pillow.
How often should I refill a latex pillow?
Less often than any other natural fill. Latex resists compression for five to eight years of nightly use. You may not need this refill at all. When the pillow finally loses some loft or one section settles unevenly, fresh pieces fill it back in without a whole-pillow replacement.
What is slow-pour Dunlop latex?
Slow-pour Dunlop is the higher-quality natural-latex process. The sap is poured slowly into the mold so air settles out between layers, giving a denser, more uniform foam than mass-market Dunlop. Mass-market Dunlop pours fast and traps voids, creating inconsistent density across the block. Slow-pour costs more to produce and feels the same across the whole chamber.
Is the latex OEKO-TEX certified?
Yes, Class 1. The latex carries OEKO-TEX Standard 100, Class 1 certification, the strictest tier in the program. Class 1 is the same standard applied to products made for direct infant skin contact. The full panel tests for over 100 harmful compounds, including PFAS, formaldehyde, heavy metals, pesticide residue, and phthalates.
Where does the latex come from?
The sap is tapped from Hevea brasiliensis rubber trees grown on FSC-certified plantations in Sri Lanka. FSC certifies that the trees were harvested through responsible forestry practices. The sap is processed using the slow-pour Dunlop method, then we break the cured latex into pieces.
