Same fill as the Organic Wool Pillow

Long-staple GOTS Certified Organic wool from certified organic farms in New Zealand. The same wool we put in our Organic Wool Pillow.

How to use it

Open the side zipper on your existing pillow. Add wool a handful at a time until the loft sits where you want. The bag re-seals so you can save extras for next time.

GOTS-certified, lanolin intact

The fiber carries GOTS license GOTS-10229, issued by Oregon Tilth. The natural lanolin coating that makes wool dust-mite resistant stays on every fiber.

Wicks up to 30% of its weight

Long-staple wool actively manages moisture, pulling sweat into the fiber core while the surface stays dry. Hot sleepers stop waking up clammy within the first week.

Long-staple organic wool wicks up to 30 percent of its weight in moisture while the surface stays dry to the touch. That's how a Circadian Organic Wool Pillow handles night sweats and stays dust-mite resistant without any chemical treatment. The wool will eventually compress with use, and when it does, this refill brings the loft back without replacing the pillow.

This refill is the same Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified organic wool fill used in every Circadian Organic Wool Pillow, sold by weight so you can top up to your preferred firmness. Open the pillow's side zipper, add wool a handful at a time until the height feels right, seal it back up. Wool's natural springiness means even small top-ups add noticeable loft.

Certifications

Certified under Oregon Tilth license GOTS-10229, publicly searchable on the GOTS database. Sourced from sheep raised on certified organic farms in New Zealand, scoured without chlorine bleach or harsh detergents. Same fiber, same supply chain, same audit trail as the pillow it goes into.

What you get

Sealed bag in 2 lb or 5 lb. The 2 lb is enough for a top-up on a Standard, Queen, or King. The 5 lb fully refreshes a Standard, Queen, or King with extra to top up a Body pillow.

How to use it

Open the side zipper on your Circadian Organic Wool Pillow, add wool a handful at a time, tease the fiber apart as you add it so it lofts properly rather than compressing into a clump, and seal it back up. The first night with new fill may feel slightly firmer until the wool settles into your sleep position.

A note on scent

Fresh wool has a faint lanolin scent that some people describe as earthy or sheepy. The scent fades within a few days once the wool is exposed to room air. If you're scent-sensitive, air the bag's contents in indirect sunlight for an afternoon before adding to your pillow.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use this in any wool pillow?

Yes. The wool works in any zippered wool pillow, ours or another brand. Open the side zipper and add wool a handful at a time until the loft matches where you want it. The fiber is the same long-staple GOTS Certified Organic wool we use in our Organic Wool Pillow.

How often should I refill a wool pillow?

Most people top off every three to five years. Wool compresses gradually with use and the pillow sits lower than it did at unboxing. Add wool a handful at a time until the loft matches your sleep position.

Is the wool GOTS certified?

Yes. The fiber carries Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certification under license GOTS-10229, issued by Oregon Tilth. GOTS rules out synthetic pesticides on the sheep, chlorine bleaching during scour, chrome-based dyes, and synthetic mothproofing treatments.

Where does the wool come from?

Certified organic farms in New Zealand. The fiber is long-staple, 3 to 5 inches per fiber, which is twice the length of standard short-staple wool. Long-staple wool spins into softer yarns with fewer exposed ends, so the pillow surface feels soft instead of scratchy.

Does the wool have a smell?

Fresh wool carries a faint lanolin scent the first few nights. The scent fades within a week as the wool airs out. The lanolin coating is what makes wool naturally hypoallergenic and dust-mite resistant, so the scent is a sign the fiber has not been over-processed.
