Most organic pillows certify only the cover.
The fill inside is the part your face touches for eight to ten hours a night. Two of our six fills carry Global Organic Textile Standard end-to-end. The other four are honest about where the framework stops.
“Certified on the cover and certified end-to-end are different pillows.”Abbie Davidson · Founder, The Filtery · Non-toxic living guides
Three pillows answer the bulk of what shows up in the guide.
A lot of pillows sold as organic only certify the outer fabric. The fill inside is what you actually breathe through eight to ten hours a night. These three carry the certifications all the way through, or substitute a verifiable equivalent.
Organic Cotton
The densest fill in the lineup. Cotton fiber compresses slowly and evenly under your weight, so the loft you dial in on night three is the loft you have on night three hundred. GOTS-10229 across fill, cover, thread, and dye process.

Organic Wool
Wool wicks up to 30 percent of its weight in moisture, holding the surface microclimate below the 50 percent humidity threshold dust mites need to survive. Lanolin coats dead skin flakes the moment they shed.

Wild-Harvested Kapok
The fiber grows inside seed pods on Ceiba pentandra trees in Indonesian rainforests. Pod to pillow runs without a chemical step. Each fiber is 80 to 90 percent air by volume, which is why the feel sits closer to down than to a typical natural fill.

Every pillow shares the same organic cotton cover and the same GOTS-certified New Jersey workshop operating since 1981.
Why we built a partnership with The Filtery.
Abbie catches the difference most non-toxic pillow coverage misses. A lot of pillows sold as organic only certify the outer fabric, while the fill inside is conventional cotton, polyester batting, or treated foam. That distinction is the one we built Circadian around.
Two of our six fills carry Global Organic Textile Standard end-to-end under license GOTS-10229: the organic cotton and the organic wool. Two more sit outside textile certification by definition (buckwheat hulls and wild-harvested kapok), and we say so. The slow-pour Dunlop latex pillow holds OEKO-TEX Standard 100 at Class 1, the infant-skin-contact tier. We sell six natural fills under one brand so you can compare them side by side.
— Jacob KatzFounder, Circadian
One pillow, dialed in over a few nights.
Every Circadian pillow ships overstuffed by about 30 percent. The side zipper opens to the fill so you can remove material a handful at a time and reach the loft your spine wants. If you take out too much, the fill goes back in.
What readers ask first
How is this different from other “non-toxic” pillows?
Every Circadian pillow is handmade in a single New Jersey facility that has been producing certified natural bedding since 1981. The organic cotton and organic wool pillows carry Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certification end-to-end (fill, cover, thread, and dye process) under license number GOTS-10229. The full lineup ships free of flame retardants, dyes, perfumes, pesticides, and VOC-emitting materials.
How does the 60-night trial work?
Sleep on the pillow for up to 60 nights. If it doesn't fit, return for a full refund. We cover shipping both ways. Most fill calibration happens in the first two weeks, so 60 nights leaves room to dial in loft and decide whether the fill type is right for you.
Can I verify the GOTS certification?
Yes. Search license number GOTS-10229 at global-standard.org, or look up our workshop's GOTS license in the public GOTS database. Our partner workshop in New Jersey handcrafts every Circadian pillow.
Which fill should I start with?
The 90-second quiz at the top of this page matches you on sleep position, primary concern, firmness preference, and material sensitivities. If you already know cotton, wool, or kapok is the direction, those three are the starting points most Filtery readers gravitate toward.
How long until the pillow arrives?
Most orders ship from New Jersey within one business day and arrive in 4 to 7 days via free ground shipping.
Start with the fill that fits.
Take the quiz, find your match, sleep on it for 60 nights. Returns are free and we cover shipping both directions.
